thought about your statement a bit. At first I thought it odd. But after thinking a few minutes I can see the tie in. Crumpled, brown, tired and then water reviving... I just like the simple elegance of the piece. I find it a bit sad in a way.
I'm usually bothered by backgrounds being darker than the subject but in this case I think it throws real mood into it. Nice job... Dave -- Dave | davenitsche.com Always technically perfect, and very emotional at the same time.
-- portfolio planet Really like the concept (though not as much the accompanying text).
It is kinda melancholic - the rotten leaf - and using vivid colours (both the background and the surrounding white) proves that one may effectively use a colourful composition rather than a b&w to imprint those feelings. Also the focus is very successful, as it uses the background lights to help the scene rather than distract the main subject from its surrounds. In general, a very very nice work!!! |
